Announcing the Community Economies Institute Summer-Winter School, Researching Postcapitalist Possibilities, 10 to 19 June 2025.

Expressions of interest closed on 21 February 2025 but places are still available. If you are interested, please email Jenny Cameron, school at communityeconomies dot org.

The School is for PhD students, early career researchers, activist-scholars and others. It focuses on Community Economies research and practice:

  • The first part focuses on foundational texts (such as The End of Capitalism (as we knew it)), core concepts (such as antiessentialism, poststructuralism and performativity) and thinking techniques (such as reading for difference).
  • The second part focuses on contemporary applications of this foundational material.

The 10-day program includes in-depth reading of foundational texts, short lectures, activities to deepen your understanding and apply what you learn to your own research or project, and individual research meetings and panels with members of the CEI.
